On Nov. 3, Of Monsters and Men (OMAM) will perform at The Anthem as part of their North American tour for their long-awaited album All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade (2025). Formed in Garðabær, Iceland, in 2010, the indie-folk group rose to international fame with their 2011 debut “My Head Is An Animal” and hit single “Little Talks,” which has since surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. OMAM defined a new era of indie folk music in the early 2010s with fairytale-inspired lyrics and themes of growing up. After a six year hiatus, the band is now returning with their fourth studio album and a new, more mature and introspective tone. The lyrics focus on universal emotions—loneliness, self-doubt, and the longing for a lost connection while reflecting on growing apart from loved ones, accepting change, and searching for true happiness. Co-lead singers Nanna Hilmarsdóttir and Ragnar Þórhallsson describe the album as exploring the “the duality of things—where there’s love, there’s bound to be pain.” While the album is different from their past works, fans will still recognize the band’s signature interplay between Raggi and Nanna’s vocals, a dialogue that ultimately resolves in harmony.
