Preview: Glare at The Atlantis on Oct. 6

With a tone akin to a shimmering, hazy sun, heavy shoegaze band Glare will take to The Atlantis this Monday, Oct. 6. Formed in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, Glare began playing gigs adjacent to the DIY hardcore punk scene. Early hits such as “Into You” and “Void in Blue” gained Glare their first fans, with their Heavenly EP in 2021 reaching new audiences during the pandemic. The band also joined Panchiko on their Fall 2024 North American tour. Glare’s writing and recording sessions led to their debut album released this April, Sunset Funeral, after a long eight years’ wait. Despite boasting a calm one million monthly listeners on Spotify, they’re still one of the best kept secrets of shoegaze. Don’t miss out on Glare, as well as other acts like Cloakroom, Destiny Bond, and Jivebomb, in D.C. this coming Monday.
