On Monday, Oct. 26, Friko’s second North American tour makes a stop in Washington, DC. Friko, a band from Chicago, is in the midst of their Something Worth Waiting For tour. The tour is named after the band’s second album which features nine tracks ranging from classical ballads to chamber pop. The band takes heavy inspiration from ‘70’s-era ballads, with many of their songs having strong emotional shifts.

Something Worth Waiting For was released on April 24th, 2026 and features nine tracks. Tracks like “Certainty” and “Alice” have an emotional crescendo, while “Choo Choo” and “Something Worth Waiting For” already start emotionally driven. The lead singer, Niko Kapetan, has a unique voice that really charges the band’s music with a sense of nostalgia and sadness for listeners, a theme that’s matched by the bipolar intensity of their instrumentation. For example, halfway into the title track, Niko screams into his guitar to produce a screechy tone to the song, immediately followed by a sudden halt into a slow and soft chorus.

The event will take place at the Atlantis at 6:30 pm and will feature Nine Perfect Lives as the opener. Friko will donate $1 from all tickets purchased towards Santa for a Day, an organization that answers letters to Santa from children in underserved communities.
