Georgetown University’s Guild of Bands will unleash an eclectic mix of ensembles this Sunday, April 29 from 2-5pm in the Gonda Theater of the Davis Performing Arts Center. The diverse variety of student bands have been longing all year for you to pull up a chair and hear them perform.
The Guild of Bands is not an association of musical medieval tradesman, as this Indy editor had expected, but it is, in fact, a veritable union of rock, pop and jazz acts from around campus. These acoustic aficionados perform at events big and small throughout the school year, as they hone their knowledge of the music industry by day and orchestrate jaw-dropping concerts in which their symphonically minded fellows hold forth harmoniously on stage for fans by night. A lot of the tunes these artists turn out are 100% original, but they also do covers of the popular songs of the day, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Love what the Guild is about? Grab a saxophonist or keyboardist, and you can head on down to auditions in the fall.
The performance this Sunday is free of charge.
