Rick and Morty

After a two year hiatus, Rick and Morty has finally returned for its fourth season on Adult Swim. With Rick no longer at the helm of the reunited Smith family, the latest season has gotten off to a very strong start. Guest starring Elon Musk, Taika Waititi, Jeffrey Wright, and Sam Neill, season four is sure to amuse new fans and die-hards alike. Even with the show’s heightened popularity, Rick and Morty has refused to stray from its roots: societal chidings and existential themes with a glossy veneer of fart jokes and teenage crushes. The show’s two creators, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, have offered much more creative freedom to the writing staff, who all understand what separates Rick and Morty from a field of dime-a-dozen snooze-fests. The writers have harkened back to the show’s origins, featuring fourth-wall breaks, anti-trope commentary, ironic references, and of course, appearances from Mr. Poopybutthole and Mr. Meeseeks. As the core characters are further developed, Harmon and Roiland are sure to make you say, “you son of a bitch, I’m in”— all in, that is, on season four. Stream the latest season of Rick and Morty on your ISP’s cash-grabbing service, Sundays at 11:30 PM on Adult Swim, like the Jerry you are. Or just *burp* wait until it’s on Hulu *burp* or something.
