Do you like corgis? Of course you do. On Oct. 8, Derpin’ in D.C., a group of corgis and their owners, is organizing a corgi-centric Oktoberfest in Tysons Corner. “Come join us at a dog and family friendly beer garden in Tysons Corner to mingle with fellow corgi owners and corgi lovers,” the event’s website advertises.
Corgi owners and lovers alike are encouraged to gather at Tysons Biergarten for a fun-packed afternoon. The event includes activities such as a corgi short race, a pie eating contest, costume contest, a raffle, and even a dog portrait booth. If this is not enough for you, just think of all the adorable corgis running around. The event is part of a larger series that promotes interactions within the dog-loving community, and provides an excellent platform for puppy socialising. The gathering is free and open to all, but participants are encouraged to make a small donation that will go towards helping a rescue organization.
For more details, check out the event’s Facebook page. In fact, those who are seriously considering participating are encouraged to RSVP online so that corg-anizers can better accommodate the crowd. If you are interested in attending similar events later in the year, be sure to look up Derpin’ in D.C. on Facebook regularly for announcements for future events.
